Coverage
Dmand AI covers 53.3K+ US community clinics and urgent care centers, including 18.9K+ FQHC sites and 5.6K+ rural health clinics
Community clinics care for patients outside the hospital and the private office: federally qualified health centers and look-alikes, rural health clinics, urgent care, school and student health, and tribal, VA, military and correctional clinics. Retail clinics inside pharmacies are filed as medical group sites, so they are not counted here.

Community clinics and urgent care sites, October 25, 2026. “Who runs it” counts sites placed under a parent organization.
Clinic profiles
Every clinic profile shows its type, program status, parent, clinicians and the EHR it runs
One record per clinic site, so a health center’s main site, satellites and school-based clinics stay separate accounts under one parent.
The overview shows clinic type, program status and identifiers
Type and sub-type, FQHC or look-alike status, the CMS certification number and NPI where they exist, address, phone and website.
The parent tab shows who runs the clinic
The health center, hospital, school district, chain or agency above it, with its other sites.
Clinicians show who sees patients there
Physicians, nurse practitioners, PAs, dentists and behavioral clinicians linked to the site, and the medical groups that practice there.
Leaders show who runs the parent
The CEO, chief medical officer and the operations, finance and IT leaders of the organization above the clinic.

Data quality
How Dmand AI keeps community clinic data reliable: CMS numbers, exact program status and the parent on record
Health centers open satellites, add school-based sites and change program status. Keeping each site separate, with its own sub-type and parent, keeps a clinic list right as health centers grow.
Illustrations: the labels Dmand AI shows on clinic records, each on an invented record.
Keyed to CMS numbers
Certified FQHC sites and every rural health clinic keep their CMS certification number on the record.
Program status kept apart
An FQHC, a look-alike and a rural health clinic are never merged, so a grant-funded list stays grant-funded.
Main site, satellite or school-based
Every FQHC site carries its role, so the main site and its satellites stay separate accounts.
Monthly refresh and fixes on request
Clinic records refresh monthly; report a wrong parent or clinic type from the profile for review.

Questions
FQHC, community clinic and urgent care data FAQs
What buyers ask before they choose a source for clinic and urgent care data.
How many FQHCs are there in the US?
Dmand AI tracks 18.9K+ US FQHC sites: 12.3K+ main sites, 3.6K+ satellite clinics, 2.6K+ school-based clinics, 242 look-alikes and 55 clinics inside nursing homes, jails or hospitals. 12.1K+ of these sites sit under 2K+ parent organizations, most of them health centers. Counts as of October 25, 2026; HRSA counts health center organizations, which is a smaller number than sites.
What is the difference between an FQHC, an FQHC look-alike and a rural health clinic?
An FQHC is a community health center funded under the federal Health Center Program; a look-alike meets the same requirements without the federal grant. A rural health clinic is a clinic in a rural, underserved area certified by CMS for special Medicare and Medicaid payment. Dmand AI keeps all three as separate sub-types. The glossary entry on FQHCs goes further.
Where can I get a list of FQHCs with their parent health centers?
Search FQHC sites in Dmand AI by state or city, and each one shows its site role and the health center that runs it. Save the list, roll the sites up to their parents, or export both with NPIs and CMS numbers.
How many urgent care centers are there in the US?
Dmand AI tracks 13.4K+ US urgent care sites: 11.2K+ urgent care centers and 2.1K+ additional locations of existing centers. Counts as of October 25, 2026; totals elsewhere differ by whether they include hospital-run walk-in clinics and retail clinics.
Which urgent care chains are owned by health systems?
2.3K+ urgent care sites in Dmand AI sit under hospitals and health systems, and 4.8K+ belong to parents that run two or more sites, from regional chains to occupational health companies. Filter urgent care by parent type to separate system-owned, chain and independent centers.
How many rural health clinics are owned by hospitals?
3.6K+ of the 5.6K+ rural health clinics in Dmand AI are hospital-owned, and 3.9K+ are placed under a hospital or health system in the org hierarchy. The other 2K+ are independent clinics. Counts as of October 25, 2026.

Does Dmand AI have HRSA UDS data?
No. Dmand AI does not hold the patient, visit or quality figures that health centers report to HRSA in the Uniform Data System. Its clinic records hold sites, site roles, parents, clinicians, leaders, identifiers and EHRs; for UDS figures, use HRSA’s own data.
Can I filter clinics by EHR?
Yes, in the app. The EHR on file is a filter, so you can list the FQHC sites, rural health clinics or urgent care centers that run the system you sell into or replace. The EHR and technology data page covers the filters.
Where does Dmand AI’s clinic data come from, and how current is it?
CMS certification numbers and facility types come from CMS facility records and NPIs and addresses from the CMS provider registry. Site roles, parents, clinician links, leaders and EHRs come from Dmand AI site of care data, org hierarchy data, affiliation data, executive data and EHR install data. Records refresh every month.
