Signal coverage

Dmand AI tracks buying signals on US health systems, hospitals and their leaders from 100+ signal sources

Dmand AI, a healthcare sales intelligence and outbound platform, builds buying signals on news, job postings, CMS filings, RFPs and other healthcare sources, with built-in signals for growth, challenges, news and career moves and custom signals for any event you describe. Each signal sits on its account in the org tree, so you can tell whether it belongs to the whole system, one hospital or one person.

Intent data vs buying signals

Intent data, news alerts and static lists miss which hospital is changing

Teams time healthcare outreach with one of three approaches, and each reads a different kind of intent signal. None of them ties the change to the hospital where it happened and the people inside it.

Illustration: for each common approach, what it shows next to what Dmand AI shows for the same kind of account.
  • Web intent data reads research by company domain

It counts topic research from a domain or network address, so a health system that shares one domain reads as one account and the hospital doing the research stays hidden.

  • News alerts name a hospital but not its system or its buyers

A press alert says a hospital is adding a wing, then a rep still has to find the account, place it under its parent and look up who decides.

  • Static account lists rank by size, not by timing

A territory list sorted by size sends reps to the biggest systems while a smaller hospital names a new CIO or opens an RFP.

01

Turn on built-in signals and add a custom signal for your ICP

Riley keeps Company Growth and News and Media on, then writes a custom signal in plain English, “a health system publishes an RFP for revenue cycle services”, set to refresh weekly.

02

See which health systems qualify and why

Accounts with new signals come first, and Brannock Health’s Insights card shows it qualifies for Revenue cycle RFP, with a short summary and the source, so Riley checks where it happened.

03

See where in the org tree each signal happened

The RFP sits on Bay Hospital under Bay Division, so the next step is the people at that hospital, not the system headquarters.

04

Find decision makers at the site that changed

Find decision makers lists the finance and revenue cycle leaders at Bay Hospital, one of them recently promoted, and Riley saves three of them to a list for outreach.

Finding the right decision-maker for your specific value prop is the hardest part of landing enterprise accounts. Dmand helped us get there faster, from initial discovery all the way to scaling once things started working.

Signals that point to a purchase

Healthcare buying signals that point to a purchase: growth, new leaders, ownership changes and RFPs

The useful signals are the events that usually come before a budget, a shortlist or a new person in charge.

  • Illustration: a hospital with company signals for business expansion, financing, contraction and leadership updates, and a person with career signals for a job change and a work anniversary.

Built-in signals for company changes and career moves

Expansion, financing and new offerings mean new money to spend, while contraction and declining earnings point to buyers cutting costs. A new leader or a job change is a reason to introduce yourself while priorities are still being set.

  • Illustration: public healthcare sources above five healthcare signals: ownership change, new site of care, certificate of need, HIPAA breach and RFP.

Custom signals for healthcare events, built on public healthcare sources

Healthcare events run as custom signals: describe one in plain English with filters such as specialty, location or number of beds, and Dmand AI checks public healthcare sources for it every week or month. Teams track CMS change of ownership filings, new sites of care enrolled with CMS, certificate of need approvals, price transparency enforcement, CMS quality penalties and HIPAA breaches reported to HHS. They also watch for published RFPs and clinical trial sites that start recruiting.

Signals by team

Health IT, staffing, MedTech and pharma teams each watch different healthcare buying signals

The signal that matters depends on what you sell and who signs for it.

Health IT and services

Catch RFPs, EHR changes and new CIOs at hospitals

Custom signals catch RFPs in your category and EHR go-live announcements, and Leadership Updates flags a new CIO or CMIO, so you reach the IT leaders at that hospital while vendors are still being chosen.

Healthtech and digital health

Track hospitals in mandatory CMS models and new value-based care programs

Digital health teams track hospitals in mandatory CMS models such as TEAM, ACOs moving to new value-based models and state Rural Health Transformation RFPs for telehealth, then reach the care management leaders who will run the program.

Dmand AI for digital health

Medical staffing and recruiting

Find hospitals hiring the roles you place and new sites that need staff

A custom hiring signal flags hospitals and nursing homes posting nurse, coding or IT roles, and new sites of care show where staff are needed before opening day, so you reach the nursing leaders who approve agency help.

Dmand AI for staffing

Consulting and agencies

Track hospital mergers, ownership changes and financial distress

Consultants track hospital mergers, CMS change of ownership filings, bond rating downgrades and CMS quality penalties to see which systems face integration, turnaround or quality work before they hire an advisor.

Dmand AI for consulting

MedTech and medical supplies

Follow certificate of need approvals and new hospitals before they open

MedTech teams track certificate of need approvals for beds, operating rooms and imaging, new hospitals and surgery centers, and hospital bond issues, so you reach supply chain and department leaders while equipment is still being planned.

Dmand AI for MedTech

Pharma, biotech and CROs

Find clinical trial sites that start recruiting or name new investigators

Life sciences teams track hospitals and medical groups that start recruiting for a clinical trial or list a new investigator on ClinicalTrials.gov, so you reach the research leaders at sites that are already active.

Buying signals questions

Healthcare buying signals FAQs

What sellers and RevOps leaders ask before they trust a signal. Not here? Email hello@dmand.ai.

What are buying signals in healthcare sales?

Buying signals are events that suggest an account or a person may be ready to buy, such as a new site, a new executive or a published RFP. In healthcare the event usually happens at one hospital, group or site inside a larger health system, so where it happened in the org tree matters as much as what happened. The Dmand AI glossary has the full definition.

Is Dmand AI’s buying signal data the same as intent data?

No. Intent data usually measures which companies are researching a topic online, matched to a company by its web domain or network address. Buying signals are events at the account or in a person’s career, such as an expansion, a leadership change or an RFP. Dmand AI’s signals are tied to the hospital, health system, medical group or person where they happened.

What buying signals does Dmand AI track?

Company signals come in four groups: Company Growth (business expansion, financing, growth in sales or revenue), Company Challenges (contraction, declining sales and earnings, potential risks), Department Challenges (customer success, marketing and sales) and News and Media (leadership updates, new offerings, awards). People signals cover career updates (job changes, work anniversaries) and social updates (LinkedIn posts, podcasts, YouTube videos). Custom signals track anything else you describe. Healthcare events, such as ownership changes, new sites of care and certificate of need approvals, are tracked as custom signals on public healthcare sources.

What is a custom buying signal?

A custom signal is an AI agent you set up in plain English to watch for one event on companies or people. You give it a name, filters such as industry, location, specialty or number of beds, a prompt describing what to track and a weekly or monthly refresh. Teams use them for events like a health system opening a hospital, a group hiring nurses or a hospital publishing an RFP.

How do I find hospitals and health systems that published an RFP?

Create a custom signal for RFPs in your category, for example “a hospital or health system publishes an RFP for patient engagement”, and set it to refresh weekly. Accounts that qualify show the signal with a short summary and a link to the source. Find decision makers then lists the leaders at that site who will run the evaluation.

How do I get alerts when hospital executives change jobs?

People signals flag job changes and work anniversaries on the executives and HCPs in your lists, and News and Media flags leadership changes at accounts. Custom signals such as “recently promoted” or “a champion changes jobs” follow your own contacts. Each signal appears on the person’s or account’s record at its next refresh, with the date and the source.

Can I see which hospitals are hiring for the roles I sell to?

Yes, with a custom signal. Describe the roles, such as nurses, revenue cycle staff or IT, and the accounts to watch, and Dmand AI flags hospitals, health systems and medical groups that are hiring for them. Staffing firms use it to find sites that need help, and vendors use it to see which teams are growing.

How do I find new hospitals and outpatient sites that are opening?

Business Expansion flags accounts adding locations, and a custom signal such as “a health system opens a new hospital” tracks openings directly. Each signal sits on its account in the org tree, so you can see which health system is behind the new site and reach its leaders while it is still being staffed and equipped.

What healthcare-specific buying signals can Dmand AI track?

Dmand AI tracks healthcare trigger events as custom signals that read public sources. Teams track ownership changes in CMS change of ownership filings, new sites of care enrolled with CMS, and price transparency enforcement and quality penalties published by CMS. Outside CMS, they watch certificate of need approvals from state agencies, HIPAA breaches reported to HHS, RFPs on hospital, state and federal procurement sites, and clinical trial sites that start recruiting on ClinicalTrials.gov. The 2026 to 2027 window matters because CMS deadlines are setting budgets: the mandatory TEAM payment model has been live since January 1, 2026, LEAD replaces ACO REACH on January 1, 2027, and CMS began enforcing new hospital price transparency rules on April 1, 2026.

Where does Dmand AI’s buying signal data come from?

Signals are built on 100+ signal sources across the web: company news and press releases, job postings, public social posts, podcasts and videos, CMS filings and RFPs. A custom signal also reads the public healthcare sources that fit its prompt, such as state certificate of need notices or ClinicalTrials.gov. Each signal links to its source and is matched to the account in Dmand AI’s org tree or to the person in Dmand AI executive data and the CMS provider registry.

Is Dmand AI an alternative to ZoomInfo intent data for healthcare?

For teams selling into US healthcare, it can be. ZoomInfo describes its intent data as research on topics and keywords, tracked from IP-to-organization pairings and now shown at the person level (zoominfo.com). Dmand AI tracks events at hospitals, health systems and medical groups and in people’s careers, and shows the people at the site where each one happened. Read the full Dmand AI and ZoomInfo comparison.

Are buying signals part of the free trial?

Yes. The trial is 30 days free, self-serve and needs no credit card, and it previews the full dataset with trial credits. Plans and credits after the trial are on the pricing page.
